Tangier sits at the top of Africa, about fourteen kilometres from Spain across the Strait of Gibraltar. Ferries arrive from Tarifa in around an hour. From here you can be in the blue lanes of Chefchaouen the same afternoon, then work south through Fes towards the desert.
